Building your belief within yourself can be one of the easiest processes of simply remembering the greatness that lives within you, or it can become your greatest challenge within this life, battling through all of the darkest aspects of you. What makes the difference between these two approaches is the decision to create your belief in yourself internally or your decision to seek your belief in yourself externally. Many in life seek to build their self-belief externally based on what they achieve, the results they get and the validation they receive from others.
This form of self-belief is based on a conditional mindset, making every ounce of belief a hard-fought battle with many challengers to overcome before they choose to believe in themselves. Making the process of building their self-belief a conditional aspect of their identity of self, that who I am is only worthy of belief if I have external validation of my self-belief. But also a key understanding with the conditional mindset is that no gain is ever permanent, meaning the self-belief you hold today does not guarantee you will feel the same belief within yourself tomorrow.
This is the battle of the transactional mindset, that the progress I feel within myself only exists while I am moving forward towards my destination. Should I stagnate upon my journey to my destination, or have any setbacks, I am now unworthy to believe within myself as being worthy of success. This mindset of always having to move forward or be seen as a failure within myself is the reason many feel their self-belief is a transient aspect within self and not a permanent part of their self-identity.
This is the cost of holding a conditional mindset of self-belief that my belief within myself is based externally to me and not an inherent aspect of my internal identity of self. This is why creating your self-belief to be an unconditional aspect of your identity of self is so important within your life. As the internal nature of belief means that it can exist absence of external results, validation or even visual signs of progression. But more importantly, your belief in yourself is the fuel that motivates and energises you in life to achieve all you have ever dreamed of.
This means that without belief, you become void of the internal fuel needed to push through adversity to achieve what you desire in life. An important understanding from the history of war within life is “ the army that loses belief in their victory on the battlefield usually succumbs to the inevitable defeat they have foreseen within their minds and hearts”. Belief in themselves can be the difference between the greatest of warriors and those who are defeated in battle, and within yourself, you will face the same adversities should you lose belief in yourself.
But the key understanding many great warriors have come to in life is that their belief in self is not a logical or reasonable thing, and should they choose to unconditionally believe within themselves of their victory, victory is what will follow. So, should you choose to believe unconditionally that you can achieve anything within life, anything you believe you can achieve, you will achieve through your willingness to push further than anyone else ever has and ever will again. This is the power of unconditional belief, the ability to ignore the external feedback of failure and to tap into your internal knowing of the greatness that lives within you.

The cost of not building unconditional belief within yourself is the formation of a conditional mindset regarding your internal belief. That who you are is only as worthy of belief within yourself as your external results, progression and validation of others will permit you to feel. That who you are and the belief you hold within yourself is not an internally fueled aspect of your self-identity that it is an externally fueled aspect of self, always requiring proof before belief is felt.
This condition-based mindset of your self-belief means you must find unshakable proof of your worthiness of your inherent belief before you will allow yourself to feel belief within yourself and your abilities. So, should you ever seek to do something in life you have never done before, this conditional mindset dictates that you cannot feel belief within yourself until you have successfully achieved your end goal. Meaning that you must battle through the worst self-doubt that exists within you while trying to learn, develop and understand how to achieve your goals in life. Creating the internal resistance you feel within yourself and your journey towards your goals in life.
This resistance becomes the self-limiting aspects that undermine your belief in your worthiness and capability to achieve your goals in life. It is this internal resistance that most in life use as an excuse for why they failed in life and why they inevitably gave up on their pursuits of their dreams in life. As their internal dialogue and belief within self was so far eroded that each step forward became so unimaginably difficult that the weight of their minds crushed the fire within their souls for their dreams within life.
By not creating an unconditional mindset around your self-belief, you are creating an unsustainable system for achieving your goals in life. For you to become the self-regulating factor within every dream you seek in life, essentially becoming the loudest voice of your unworthiness to achieve your dreams in life. This aspect of self is based on the logic of your mind that it is external factors that are the reason for your failure within life. As others “don't believe in me, they don’t support me, I don’t have the skills or abilities required to achieve my goals, I don’t have the required resources needed for success.”.
These become the internal narrative when moving towards your goals, that I need others or external results to validate my success, prior to me believing in my success and committing myself to achieving my dreams in life. See, that is the thing about a conditional mindset, it is always looking for external conditions to be met, for external validation before allowing internal belief to be felt. Whereas an unconditional mindset is the opposite, being founded entirely within the internal states of being, which allows you to dismiss the external feedback and to focus on only listening to the internal feedback loops. Conditional belief in self says that unless I have external validation of my worth or self-belief, I am unable to feel belief within myself.
The unconditional belief says that because I choose to believe in myself, I am allowed to feel belief within myself, irrespective of whether my external environment validates the belief I feel within myself. The cost of not building unconditional belief within yourself is the price of always needing external validation before internally allowing yourself to feel what you seek in life. This means you become codependent on your immediate external environment for success rather than being independent within yourself.
Being codependent on your external environment means that any variable within it can alter and change your internal states of being. Making you susceptible to the opinions of those around you, any changes within your environment can alter your internal beliefs, causing your emotional state to spiral at the drop of a hat.
How I Build Unconditional Belief Within Myself…
The key to building unconditional belief within myself was the decision to stop creating the need for conditions to be placed on my internal belief and to see myself as being unconditionally worthy of the belief I wished to feel in life. The realisation I had was that I was the one who was self-sabotaging myself through my need to meet conditions within myself prior to choosing to allow myself to believe in myself.
By removing the need for conditions to be met within myself before allowing myself to believe in my potential and abilities. I removed all limitations that I had been forming throughout my life through my need to see proof before I would believe in my internal potential to achieve my goals. As my need for validation before I would believe in myself was the resistance I was feeling in life, and for some reason, without external validation of my worthiness, I was somehow unworthy of feeling belief within myself.
Through this realisation that I was creating all of the blockages I experienced within my life, and that it was me who was creating the doubt I felt within myself when moving towards my goals. See, when I require conditions to be met as proof of my worthiness to believe in myself, I am creating the unconscious belief that the external validation overrides my internal desires in life. This need for external validation meant that for me to feel successful within my pursuits in life, I needed others to validate that what I was doing had value. Which meant that if others did not see the value in what I was doing, it made me feel internally that what I wanted in life was wrong, and it was this belief structure that caused all of the internal conflict I felt.
As for me, I was following my purpose in life, yet others did not value my purpose, so I was in conflict as I felt great meaning in my actions and yet others did not validate this feeling. So the conflict of am I delusional for my desires would begin leading me to question each action while also seeking validation from my external environment as to whether I was taking the right actions. This led to high levels of internal stress within me as I needed to find the actions others would validate for me to believe that they were the right actions to take.
This indecision created stagnation within which then would amplify my feelings of self-doubt, as progression and momentum were the primary metrics I measured my belief against. Do you see where the conundrum lies that, without others constantly validating who I was and what I was doing as being worthwhile, I doubted the value of what I was doing. So I had to learn how to remove others from the equation, as my codependency on others' validation and external metrics of success were in direct conflict with my internal belief in myself. This process of removing the external inputs for success and belief forced me to look inwards and to cease observing my external environment.
As the internal answers I felt within me directly conflicted with the external belief structures I had been taught. That, unless others see you as being valuable, you are not valuable, and unless you have results and progression, you are failing. Through this journey inwards, I had to reteach myself new ways of measuring success, new ways of creating belief within myself and new ways of defining my internal worth.
Through my journey inwards, I discovered that my belief in self was not a result of others' belief in me, that my success in life was not based on the results I got and my worth within self was not based on the worth others gave me. All of these aspects of self were a direct result of decisions and beliefs I held that I should believe in myself and my abilities to achieve success. I moved towards my success and goals with unshakable passion and motivation because I was unconsciously fueling myself and my desires within life. It was this relation that who I was existed absence of my external environment and others' validation of me.
By removing the need for external conditions on my internal belief, I realised the most powerful way to fuel my belief was by making it an unconditional aspect of my self-identity. If my self-belief were an unconditional aspect of self, then because I exist, I am worthy to believe I can achieve anything I set my mind to. I created the most powerful feedback loop within myself that I could just move towards my goals in life without first having to prove to myself that I am worthy of achieving my goals in life. This shift in perspective meant that if I focused my intention on what I sought in life, I could simply work at it, learning and developing until I became who was needed to achieve my goals.
So by unconditionally believing in myself in life, without the need for me to prove myself to myself prior to allowing myself to believe in myself. I unknowingly removed all of my past limitations, and now if I do not understand how to achieve my goals, it's simply a matter of investing in myself until I have the required skills and abilities to achieve my goals. This shift in mindset transformed my perception of challenge from being something to overcome to something to understand. Which meant I no longer had to find answers to questions I didn’t know, and now had to understand the relevance of the meaning behind my questions.
For example, should I be seeking to build my business, it is not a matter of finding the answer to “how do I build my business”, which has an endless variation of answers based upon who you are asking. To know what the meaning of “building my business” what does it mean to build a business, and how I would like to build my business. This shift in perception from answers to understanding means that failure or belief is no longer a factor within the action. How I would like to build my business will be unique to me, and what building a business means to me allows me to understand the purpose behind my actions.
Instead of seeking a definitive answer to x meaning y, there are right ways to build a business and wrong ways to build a business. For me personally, the answer I found was through creation without the need for external metrics, that instead of seeking results in building my business that I seek to create and use my creation as the measurement of my business's growth.

Confidence in your ability to succeed within anything you are seeking to achieve in life is simply the certainty of the outcome you feel within the actions you need to take to achieve your goal. This means the belief you seek within yourself to achieve anything you set your mind to is the confidence to know that your actions taken will result in success.
Through your willingness to continuously take the same actions again and again until you develop a high-level understanding of action and reaction will increase the certainty you hold within yourself when taking the actions. Through repetitions of actions, you are developing your synaptic pathways and creating unconscious muscle memory within physical actions and knowing within problem-solving.
The more you are presented with the same problem and develop new ways to overcome the problem, the more confident you feel in your ability to face and overcome problems. As many in life think that success is the completion of a task and the accumulation of the results you get from the completion of your task. This way of viewing success within oneself is non-conducive to your progression or growth, as it seeks to remove you from a continual model of progression to a linear model of progression. Fear in life is a result of the perceived regret one will feel in the absence of the results they desire to achieve with the time and energy that they invest into what they do. This means if you don’t want to feel the fear of failure, should you choose to see every action you take as a step along your journey, then each step you take is bringing you closer to your goal.
By also removing the need to achieve your goal before feeling the positive emotions you are seeking in your pursuit, you remove the need for a timeframe to be placed upon your goal, and instead of needing to achieve your goal as soon as possible. You are able to reframe your perspective to focus on the creation of your actions, oblivious to the need for the completion of the action.
This means that instead of always seeking to do things as fast as you can, you focus on the quality of your actions of creation. Think of it like writing and producing a song; if my goal is to write a song that others like, I am in essence creating not for me but for the external result I seek. Which will mean there is a path of success where my external environment validates my song as being successful, or does not validate my song, meaning it is unsuccessful. Which is completely the wrong approach if I am seeking to create a song I like and is an authentic expression of my internal creative state. That's the thing in life, we focus too much on the external environment for our validation of worth and success within our actions. This means that we become dependent on our external environment to feel worthy and successful in life. Creating an environment where fear exists because I am, in essence, trying to guess what the right actions are and avoid the actions I perceive as being wrong.
This condition-based mindset means I stop focusing on what feels right to me, and I become hyper-focused on what other people think is right. Fear is false expectations appearing as real. This means when I feel fear in life, I am creating expectations of what it should be and projecting them as being the real expectation for success. To overcome my fears in life, I must alter my internal belief structure to remove my expectations of how it should be and realise my success is determined by me.
